Using a printer run out of ink can halt your productivity
and lead your printer to damage. To avoid such possibilities, some Kodak
printers have a maintenance tool on the PC that lets you monitor the ink
levels, clean the print heads, change the printer settings and print test
pages. If the program shows an incorrect ink level, then you can ‘power cycle’
your printer. It cleans the internal memory of the printer and resets the Ink
level monitor.
In such circumstances, you can also talk to the experts at
Kodak customer care to know the exact causes of that issue. Here’s how to reset
the Kodak’s ink monitor.
Uncover the ink section at the front of your printer, and
then press the tab on each cartridge and take it out of the printer.
Power the printer off and wait for five seconds, and then
power it back on.
Click the Kodak printer icon twice on the task-bar, and then
choose the ‘Maintenance’ section from the menu.
Click on the ‘Check Ink Levels’ option. Now, you will see a
message indicating that the printer doesn’t recognize the cartridges, which
means the ink monitoring tool has been reset. Click the ‘OK’ button.
Change the toner and power the printer off. Wait for five
seconds and then power it back on.
Return to the Kodak maintenance section and click the ‘Check
Ink Levels’ option again. Now, it will display the exact level.
However, these steps might not be applicable for all Kodak
printer models. If you’re unable to reset the ink level by following such
instructions, dial the Kodak customer support number and address your queries to
techs for further help.
